What is Casa Aire Libre?
Jeremy, the owner, and his family discovered this quiet corner of the world in 1996, while hiking in Costa Rica. Realizing they had stumbled upon an enchanted piece of paradise off the beaten path, they purchased the land that had previously been a rustic gold miner’s camp.
Construction of Casa Aire Libre began a year later, with the vision of creating a simple space for them, their friends and family to enjoy the magic of the rainforest, while unplugging from the hectic pace of modern life.
Where is Casa Aire Libre located?
Casa Aire Libre is located in Dos Brazos de Rio Tigre, a small village of gold prospectors; right in the heart of the jungle on Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula, The village lies on the edge of Corcovado National Park.
How do I get to Finca Terra Incognita?
There are several ways to get to Casa Aire Libre from San José.
The most convenient way is by car. It takes about six hours to drive from San José Airport.
It is also possible to take a domestic flight or the bus to Puerto Jiménez and then travel to the houqz by taxi or car.
Do you need a 4x4 to get there?
A 4x4 is required the rainy season from August to December.
The rest of the year, an SUV is sufficient.
Where can I eat?
There is a kitchen available. You can have meals delivered directly to your home. There is also a small restaurant at the entrance to the property,
Is the house safe?
The house is completely open to the outside. While there’s no danger, this experience may not be suitable for everyone.
Are there any mosquitoes?
Objectively speaking, there aren’t many mosquitoes in our area. The house is open-plan, but the beds are fitted with effective mosquito nets.
