How to get to Casa Aire Libre

From San Jose to Puerto Jimenez

 

  • By car. In San Jose, head south towards Jaco (CR27 then CR34). You will pass through Jaco, Quepos, Dominical, Uvita. In Palmar Norte, join the Interamerican (CR2). In chacarita, head towards Puerto Jimenez (CR245) by turning right just after the petrol station. Journey time: 6 hours

  • By plane. Sansa Airlines offers several daily flights between San Jose and Puerto Jimenez. Reservations on the Internet (www.flysansa.com). Departure from the San Juan Santamaria airport in San Jose. The trip allows you to discover the country from the sky. The route flies over the South Pacific coast, the Sierpe-Terraba mangrove, the Osa Peninsula, the Golfo Dulce. Journey time: 50 minutes

  • By bus. Transportes Grupo Blanco operates the San Jose - Puerto Jimenez line. Reservations and information on the Internet (www.grupoblanco.cr). Departures from the terminal in Barrio Mexico in the center of San Jose (600 norte del parque la Merced / Calle 12 between Avenida 7 and Avenida 9). Journey time: 7/8 hours

  • By taxi / shuttle. You can make the journey by private cab or by shuttle or colectivo. It is best to book the trip in advance. We have several contacts. Fares are $400/500 for a private cab and $80/150 for the shuttles. We can provide you with contacts.Journey time: 6 hours,

From Puerto Jimenez to Casa Aire Libre

 

  • By car. From Puerto Jimenez, drive to the direction "La Palma", "Chacarita". After 5 km, turn to the first road left after the Rio Tigre bridge. Follow the signs "Corcovado", "Rio Tigre Dos Brazos" and "Amazonita" for 8 km. You will cross the village of Gallardo. At the Gallardo exit, turn left towards Dos Brazos. In the village, drive the main street on the right. Drive to Amazonita Ecolodge. This is the end of the road (you will not be able to go further). You can park in front of Amazonita Ecolodge. Casa Aire Libre is indicated. Journey time: 20/25 minutes.​
